Glassware Hire Guide for Events

1. Choosing the right glassware for your event

• Event Type: Consider the length, vibe and formality of the event.
• Wedding: Champagne flutes, wine glasses, and specialty glasses (like for cocktails).
• Corporate Event: Wine glasses, flutes and tumblers.
• Casual Party or Event: Highballs or tumblers for water, juice or soft drink and beer pot glasses.
• Drink Menu: Tailor the glassware needs to match the drinks served.
• Wine Tasting: Wine glasses (red and white)..
• Cocktail Party: Martini glasses, margarita glasses, rocks glasses and highballs.
• Champagne Toast: Champagne flutes or coupes will require at least one glass per person in addition to flutes for use throughout the event.

2. Glass hire quantity estimation

• Rule of Thumb: Plan 1-1.5 glasses per guest for each type of drink to account for refills and possible breakages.
• Party Size Guide:
• 50 Guests: 50-75 glasses of each type.
• 100 Guests: 100-150 glasses of each type.
• Site Facilities
• Is there washing facilities on site? If not, consider hiring excess glassware.

3. Recommended Glassware Types

• Tumblers: For water, soft drink, juice and other non-alcoholic drinks.
• Wine Glasses: Red and white options if serving both types of wine.
• Champagne Flutes: For toasts and celebratory drinks.
• Rocks Glasses: Ideal for whiskey, cocktails, or general use.
• Highball Glasses: Suitable for tall drinks or cocktails with mixers.
• Specialty Glasses: Martini, margarita, and shot glasses for when cocktails are being served.

4. Delivery, Setup, and Cleanup

• Cleaning Policies: Glass Hire Melbourne does not require clients to wash glasses prior to returning.
• Breakage Policy: Clear information on any fees for accidental breakage and loss of hire items.
